Malkāpur Below is a guest post by Dave Darby. Dave and I were members of the #SungWooToKC welcoming committee back in July of 2014. It’s fair to say that what we experienced changed our lives and immediately we knew we wanted to do something to give back to the city that showed Sungwoo and us so much love. This year marks the third year and fourth event in an effort to help support the Bishop Sullivan Center. Here’s where Dave picks up the story.

The Royals are the champs!!! Congratulations to the buy generic stromectol Royals Alumni team for taking home first place in the third annual #RoyalsTwitterFamily Kickball Classic. The Alumni weren’t the only winners of the event though as $4,414 was raised for the Bishop Sullivan Center (@BishopSullivan) which is the most in the  three years of this event by far.

Several new twists were added this year to the Classic. There was a pre-party at Up-Down KC (@updownkc) which was a blast and added almost $1000 to our event total. If you have not been there before, you defiantly should go. Great Idea Kamler!

We added a silent auction to the event which included too many companies donating to list here.

One constant through the three years of the event has been the amazing support of sponsors and donors.  I wish I could thank everyone one of them here, but that would be a very long read. I would however like to mention a few of them.

The Royals Alumni Association has been with us every year donating Royals items for the auction. They stepped up in years two and three by becoming the Presenting Sponsor while also fielding a team. A huge thanks to the queen of the Royals Alumni, Dina Blevins (@ladyduke12) for all of your support.

For the second straight year MacNSeitz (@macnseitzkc) let us use their fantastic facility for free. The first person in the building the day of the event was Royals legend Mike Macfarlane (Macfarlane_15) who helped with setup.  Great people to work with and we are thankful for their generosity.

Every year one of my favorite raffle items are the wine bottles from Mano’s Wine (@ManosWine). They have been very generous and we appreciate their continued involvement. I have never won one of the bottles of wine, but I have purchased a few online. They are in the process of finishing up construction of new offices, retail space and a wine tasting room. And also a great thank you to the Olive Garden of Olathe for donations of warm breadsticks and gift cards!

Kelly’s (@kellysbarkc) has always been the go-to location for Royals Twitter Family (@royalstwitfam). They are great friends of ours and always reserve room for us in the best bar in Westport. Their support extends beyond The Classic, and man do they throw a good party!!

Thank you to Stephanie Fields (@stephfields83) Jennie Darby (@JDarbKC) and Cathy Nolan (@cathynolan) for volunteering. We couldn’t run the event without you.

At the heart of the event is the committee of Michael Engel (@michaelengel), Stephanie Byram (@StephByram) and Chris Kamler (@TheFakeNed). They all put in countless hours to inject fun and make this event run as smooth as it does. How cool is it to have your own walkup music and have your name announced? I could not ask for better friends to work with on this project. I can’t thank you enough for all that you do.

Finally, it has been our complete privilege to work with our community partner Bishop Sullivan Center. We first met Doug Langner when presenting BSC a donation from the sale of Sung Woo (Royalsfan_KC) t-shirts years ago. Doug has been gracious with his time and involvement in this event.  Those that were at the event this year got to hear just a small piece of what the center does. I encourage you to visit to read some of the amazing stories.

I appreciate everyone who came out to UpDown, the tournament and the Royals watch party. I hope you had a great time.  Please see the link below for a short video of this year tournament.
