Only 2 weeks removed from his controversial self-ejection from Twitter, Danny Duffy has returned.
Sunday evening, Duffy reactivated his account with a layered subtweet: “Turn Setbacks into Comebacks.”
Royals fans cheered the return as he received dozens of “Welcome Back!” tweets to his account. Robert Sigrist @DocSig said “great to see you back-we are all pulling for you” while Mikie Zupon @MIZZupon referenced his popular live-tweets during recent Royals games, “I love to see you back on twitter, it must have been killin you not live-tweeting the games.”
Duffy has only posted a few tweets, one of which was about Justin Bieber and we don’t yet know if he’ll be as candid as he was during his first go around with Twitter. His absence a couple of weeks ago began with a very opinionated series of tweets about the Los Angeles Lakers and ended in a heated discussion with an Oklahoma City Thunder fan who has caused her own set of problems around the Internet in the meantime.
Duffy is waiting to undergo Tommy John surgery which was scheduled for last week, however strep throat caused him to have to delay the surgery. A new date has not yet been set by team doctors. The recovery time for such surgery is 12-18 months, so we should expect Duffy to have some time to kill on Twitter while he rehabs his arm.
In the meantime, we welcome back Danny Duffy to Twitter. There will always be haters out there, but as Danny’s first tweet since returning mentioned, the trick is to turn those setbacks into comebacks.
